EASYGOING
Relaxed and casual in style or manner.
Usage: Report from an embedded reporter travelling with U.S. troops as they marched towards Baghdad, describing their progress thus far.

JDAM
U.S. military acronym for "Joint Direct Attack Munition," which are traditional bombs upgraded to "smart bombs" with satellite-based guidance systems, which can be dropped from aircraft or launched miles from the target and land with pinpoint accuracy.

SHOCK AND AWE
A military tactic championed by war planners at the U.S. Pentagon that is designed to break the enemy's will to fight by deploying an overwhelming display of military might, which might include precise attacks using accurate intelligence as well as heavy bombing; the phrase was originally coined by Harlan Ullman, a former navy pilot and co-author of the book, "Shock and Awe."

TLAM
U.S. military acronym for "Tomahawk Land Attack Missile," which are all-weather ship- or submarine-launched missiles that can hit a variety of fixed targets.
