HAWKISH
Characterized by militant attitude which advocates immediate vigorous action, especially in support of a war or warlike policy.
Usage: Interview segment focusing on the ongoing debate over the use of the U.S. military to force a change in the government of Iraq.

Overbearing pride or presumption; arrogance.

TRANS FATTY ACID
An unsaturated fatty acid produced by the partial hydrogenation of vegetable oils and present in hardened vegetable oils, most margarines, commercial baked foods, and many fried foods (an excess of these fats in the diet is thought to raise the cholesterol level in the bloodstream).
Usage: Report on the recent change by McDonald's to a new cooking oil that allegedly will reduce the fat content of its french fries and other fried foods.
