ENTERTAINMENT
The challenges of closed captioning entertainment programs is much the same as other genres, except there often are many more words to research, including actors, musicians, movies, musical groups, television shows, and whatever else is featured.

Along with the spellings of names and events, MCS captioners must capture other elements of entertainment broadcasts -- musical notes, explosions, bits of dialogue, song lyrics -- that are included between reports and interviews.

Add to that the wide-ranging, often fast-paced interviews with the likes of Robin Williams, Cuba Gooding, Jr., and other wild characters in show business, and the challenges of providing closed captioning for entertainment programs become clear. MCS' captioners have developed extensive databases of entertainment-related terminology to realtime caption show business and entertainment programming.
